Helen + Adam's island wedding on Guernsey with plenty of wind and beach love

This was a destination wedding for me, but not so much for Helen; since this all happened at the family home that she grew up in. A family home that was already sold and that her parents were moving out of 2 weeks later. What better place to say thank you to your roots, and see yourselves off into the future with a big bash of a BYE HOME 👋 attended by all your friends, family and neighbours. It was my first time on Guernsey. I would definitely go back.

Jo + Al, a wedding, a steam train and some suit patches

These two talented people got married and it was always destined to be rather epic. Ceremony was at the Guildhall in Leicester, and the reception at Loughborough Endowed School Hall, two places everyone (?) knows are served by a regular steam train service. Cue the three of us, a slice of battenburg, some instant coffees and a steamy compartment on the Great Central Railway.

Ann-Marie Faulkner's Skye wedding to Munky Williamson at Loch Coruisk

I've known Ann-Marie through the Most Curious shows for some time now, and hence Munky and I have also shared several man hugs at said events. He is a good hugger, one of the best. So it was that I headed up to Skye with the wonderful Kim Gribbon in tow, to photograph their loch-shore wedding. (Kim can also do good hugs).

Ullet Road Unitarian library ceremony and a Handyman Supermarket knees up afterwards

Given that all you need to do is sign that piece of paper, the rest of the wedding you can do whatever the heck you like. And for Ele + Simon that meant getting ready together, a black skirt and blue top, no cake, a tiny ceremony (the first) in the library at Ullet Road Unitarian Church in Liverpool, followed by dancing into the night, donuts and a whole parma ham at the Handyman Supermarket Brewery on Smithdown Road.

It's Oakwell Hall, it rained, but it just meant more indoor C17th portrait time! 🙌

Lucy and Paul, some of the loveliest people you are ever likely to meet. Rain seems to have been a theme of the last few wedding I've blogged, and once again; who cares. Oakwell Hall was built in 1583. It's Charlotte Bronte's "Fieldhead". Apparently it was even in that 2017 Gunpowder series which I only got to see vicariously via Gogglebox but that I am sure looked epic nevertheless. Who wouldn't want to be forced inside there by the weather?

A wonderful wet autumnal wedding at Nether Wichendon House in Buckinghamshire

Had such a great time hanging out with Kaz and Thom at Nether Wichendon that it really didn't matter about the rain. Particularly when the grounds and your couple look like these stunners.

Weather chat: It's Britain, it rains, we're all used to it. And d'you know what, rain actually looks good.

Festival pagan wedding under an oak tree on High Billinghurst Farm in Surrey

In a field in Surrey a group of lovely people got together, set up a little camp of tents, a massive geo-dome and a nice pagan man married them under a tree. Plus there was a sage smoke cleansing and a stone circle. The sun shone all day, no one got stung by the hornets, and it ended on a full moon. (Plus the toilets would have qualified as #cabinporn on instagram).
